Apply to hold an event on Carmarthenshire Council Open Land

The Carmarthenshire Council Outdoor Recreation team manages a number of outdoor spaces such as Pembrey Country Park, Festival Fields Llanelli, the Millennium Coastal Path, Llyn Llech Owain Country Park, North Dock, the Burry Port Harbour area and the Pendine Event Space. All of which are suitable for outdoor event spaces for hire.

To organise an event at one of these locations, you must submit an application via the link below to obtain permission to hold your event/ activity.

The hire of the site will be subject to payment of a free or bond, to be approved by the Outdoor Recreation Manager, in addition people attending events will need to pay parking fees in some of the locations.

This application form is designed to support event organisers to run events smoothly and safely, ensuring that all the necessary licenses and permissions are in place and that you comply with relevant legislation through one single point of contact.

Applications for events will only be considered if submitted within a reasonable time before the event, dependant on size but we would expect:

  • 9 months notice for event expecting more than 500 people
  • 3 months notice for an event expecting less than 500 people

Permission must be received prior to the event being advertised.

This includes any events held:

  • Pembrey Country Park (including Monksfield, Archery Field, Trails, The Ski and activity centre)
  • Festival Fields Llanelli
  • Millenium Coastal Path
  • Llyn Llech Owain Country park
  • Mynydd Mawr
  • Ynysdawela
  • North Dock
  • Burry Port Harbour
  • Pendine Event Space

Events may for example include:

  • Music events
  • Sporting Events
  • Fetes
  • Food festivals
  • Road races
  • Beer festivals
  • Trade space
  • Charity walks
  • Fun runs
  • Carnivals
  • Community events
  • Charity Events

To help you choose the date for your event and to avoid clashing with activities already booked, we maintain a calendar of existing and pre-planned events. Before applying to hold an event please check date availability via ORevents@carmarthenshire.gov.uk.

It is likely that events with over 500 expected participants will be referred to Carmarthenshire County Councils Safety Advisory Group (SAG) for further discussion before permission can be granted by the Outdoor Recreation Events Team.
