Kitchen Assistant (Maternity Cover 12mths)
If you are passionate about food and have a good work ethic, we would love to hear from you because our self-motivated and dedicated team requires a Kitchen Assistant to cover a 12 month maternity cover. This is an annualised hours fixed term contract, this will mean that during peak times you will be required to work 37 hours per week but in quieter times the week will be 12 hours. The total hours for the year will be 1121, an average of 21.56 per week.
Working for us, you will have the opportunity to work in a busy and exciting environment. You will be responsible for assisting our Cook in preparing nutritious and appetising meals whilst ensuring compliance with all aspects of Food Hygiene and Health and Safety. Other duties will include the setting up and clearing away of tables and general cleaning duties.
We need a motivated and dedicated person who has: -
- The ability to build good relationships based on mutual respect.
- Knowledge of basic food safety. This would be an advantage, but not essential as full training will be given.
- Good communication and people skills
- The ability to work on their own and as part of a team.
You will need:
- A positive attitude and the willingness to learn new skills.
- Flexibility and the willingness to assist with other catering duties.

Casual Food & Beverage Assistants
Carmarthenshire County Council Outdoor Recreation team is seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our team as Food and Beverage Assistants at Pembrey and Llyn Llech Owain Country Parks. You will play a key role in preparing and serving food and beverages, while delivering excellent front-of-house customer service in a friendly, welcoming, professional, and efficient manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and present food and beverages to a high standard, exceeding customer expectations.
- Provide the highest level of customer care by being welcoming, courteous, and helpful.
- Capture customer feedback to continuously improve our services.
- Help create a vibrant environment for customers with excellent visual and verbal prompts.
- Operate points of sale, handling cash and card transactions in line with policies and procedures.
- Adhere to food hygiene, licensing, and Health & Safety standards.
- Check, rotate, and secure stock, assist with deliveries, and ensure correct storage to minimise waste.
- Maintain cleanliness in all work areas, promoting Carmarthenshire’s ‘Green and sustainable’ agenda.
- Support relevant brand guidelines and procedures.
Work effectively as part of a team, upholding the Council’s core values and behavioural standards
This role will require weekend working as well as evenings during peak season.

Event Co-ordinator
The Outdoor Recreation Team is dedicated to creating memorable experiences through exceptional events. We are seeking a talented and motivated Event Coordinator to join our team and help us deliver outstanding events that exceed our clients' expectations.
As an Event Coordinator based at Pembrey Country Park, you will be responsible for planning, organising, and executing a variety of events at all of our venues. You also will work closely with event organisers hiring our event spaces, vendors, and internal teams to ensure every detail is meticulously managed and the event programme runs smoothly.
