National Closed Road Circuit07 Aug, 2018
The National Closed Road Cycling Circuit at Pembrey Country Park is the first in South Wales and will further compliment Carmarthenshire’s aspiration to become the cycling hub of Wales
The circuit provides a safe, traffic-free environment for coaching and training sessions; and will be used to stage competitive cycling competitions, such as the first stage of the Tour of Britain in September 2018.
Cycling, like any other sport, needs to provide opportunities at grass roots level for children and young people, enabling them to continue on the talent pathway and even onto elite level, via our sport pathway
The track at Pembrey Country Park will be used to stage competitive cycle sports, recreational events, and a traffic free environment for coaching and training.
New purpose built, off road facility in a safe environment, 1.9km long circuit and 6 meters wide tarmac surface designed to British Cycling standards and will be the best in Wales – if not the UK – attracting local, regional and national events, races and training camps.
The track is also suitable for other events such as Athletics and Roller Skiing
Members of the public are able to access and use the circuit free of charge (subject to the conditions of use) when no bookings have been made.
